What & Who: Patients, families, caregivers, nurses, and advocates are coming together this May to demand a $4/hour increase to the Medicaid Private Duty Nursing (PDN) LPN reimbursement rate.
The problem: The current reimbursement rate does not keep up with ever-rising costs, so shifts go unfilled and patients get stuck in expensive institutional settings. When PDN is unavailable, students miss school. Typical hospital discharge delays extend 60-90+ days. And families incur hundreds of thousands of costs that would otherwise be avoidable.
We’re showing up to make sure lawmakers see the real, human impact when agencies can't make up the difference for quality coverage, administration, training, and compensation of the nursing services critical to keeping patients and their families together in their homes and communities.
