Association leader to bring the voice of home health and hospice providers to the Sherrill–Caldwell policy agenda.

Cranford, NJ | December 9, 2025 — Nancy Fitterer, president and CEO of the Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey, has been appointed to the transition team of Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill and Lt. Governor-elect Dale Caldwell. The team is tasked with advising the incoming administration on its early priorities: Healthcare, affordability, jobs, and infrastructure among them.
Fitterer will serve on the Interdisciplinary Advisory Task Force, a group of leaders from labor, business, veterans’ organizations, healthcare, education, the environment, and other key sectors. The Task Force provides real-world insight to Transition Action Teams as they shape policy recommendations for the new administration. In this role, Fitterer will ensure New Jersey’s home health and hospice providers—and the thousands of medically fragile children, adults, and seniors who rely on them—are strongly represented.
A long-time advocate for strengthening access to care at home, Fitterer will focus on securing sustainable reimbursement for home health and hospice agencies so residents can continue receiving high-quality care where they prefer it most: at home. She will also highlight how home-based services can support the administration’s goals around affordability and accessible care.
“I am honored to serve on Governor-elect Sherrill’s Interdisciplinary Advisory Task Force and to bring the voice of New Jersey’s home health and hospice community to the table,” Fitterer said. “Every day, our agencies deliver critical care that helps children, adults, and seniors live and thrive at home—rather than relying on costlier and often isolating institutional settings. I look forward to working with the new administration to make New Jersey a place where families can medically and financially afford to belong.”
Fitterer’s appointment underscores her long-standing leadership and commitment to patients and families across New Jersey’s 21 counties.
