The Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ team supports our membership to advance the mission of the Association. 

Nancy Fitterer, M.A. –Nancy@homecarenj.org

President & CEO

  Prior to joining the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ, Nancy Fitterer served as Chief of Staff to two New Jersey Attorneys General. Nancy also served in various other capacities during her eight-year tenure in the Office of the Attorney General, including Chief of Staff of the Division of Consumer Affairs. Nancy was Chief of Staff for Sen. Jennifer Beck and Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon, a trusted policy advisor to the New Jersey Assembly Republican Office and a constituent relations advocate to New Jersey Governors DiFrancesco and Whitman. She is a graduate of both The College of New Jersey with a B.A. in political science and Seton Hall University with an M.A. in international relations and diplomacy.

Gretchen Munnelly, B.S.N., RN, CCM – Gretchen@homecarenj.org

Director of Regulatory Affairs, Professional Development/Education; Director of Emergency Preparedness

  Gretchen Munnelly is a graduate of Rutgers University College of Nursing with a B.S. degree in nursing. She has actively worked as an RN since 1977 with 35 years’ experience in home care. She has been administrative and clinical director of an assistive care state programs (Medicaid) service office providing PCA care to residents in three NJ counties. Just prior to joining HCHANJ, she worked with a large NJ home care agency for 28 years. As a Board of Nursing approved CHHA instructor, she has held the training classes since 2005. Gretchen has held a certificate as a Certified Case Manager (CCM) for the last six years. She was a member of the Sussex County CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) under the direction of Sussex County OEM and the Sheriff’s department.

Donald L. Pendley, M.A., CAE, CFRE, APR Don@homecarenj.org

Director of Hospice and Palliative Care

  Don Pendley was President of the New Jersey Hospice and Palliative Care Organization from 1993 to 2016, and continues to serve and represent hospice agencies from around the state for the Association. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization; as Chairman of the National Council of State Hospice Organizations; and as Chairperson of the State Hospice Organization Executive Roundtable. Here in New Jersey, he has been President of the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives and President of Community Health Charities of New Jersey. He holds an M.A. in journalism from Syracuse University, a B.A. in English and political science from Montclair State and lives in Scotch Plains.

Susan Manders - 

 Office Coordinator


Susan Manders is the Office Coordinator for the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ. Susan has been with the Association since 2010 and is frequently the first point of contact for our office. Additionally, she is responsible for managing registrations, maintaining all databases, supporting membership retention and recruitment efforts, providing excellent client service, assisting in event planning, as well as providing other administrative support. Susan attended Franklin & Marshall College where she obtained her B.A. in studio art. She subsequently worked as a curator in an art gallery, and then as a corporate art consultant for several years. Prior to joining the Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ, Susan completed a program in medical coding and billing and earned her Certified Coding Associate (CCA) credential. Susan has worked in the healthcare industry in various capacities.
